Back in January I met the Harmes family for the first time. Cindy had found my website and reached out to book a Maternity session. She told me the session would include her husband Nick, and their two children, Isabelle and Liam. I was excited to book a studio in Hampton Roads for a session with a cozy lifestyle feel. Their package came with a Fresh 48 session as well and I was so excited to do a Studio Newborn as one more step in the journey of Noah's life. the Harmes family is like warm sunshine. They have such a fun and loving energy about them, it's absolutely contagious. I always enjoy myself so much when I'm in their company--and I laugh A LOT! Then we met again when Noah finally made his grand entrance into this world of ours:
For the newborn session Cindy brought Noah over in the morning and we chatted through out our three hour session. Noah started out SUPER awake but once he passed out, this little man was OUT. I had a bunch of new props and drops to use and he was the best little model ever. My favorite farmhouse bed made another appearance and I paired it with a nice burgundy blanket and a little gray teddy bear set. I love his little toes peeking out!
I've also been working on my simple sets and I think he found the blue one just a smidge more comfortable! My newborn sessions can be a little bit of a marathon! They generally last about 2 hours but sometimes go up to 3. We stop for feedings and diaper changes and your baby's comfort is always the most important thing. This session was so much fun, I'll have another little guy in my studio next week, I can't wait to share those photos too!
